Difference API and web search

Postby roeland » Tue Oct 30, 2012 8:16 am

Hi,

This looks like a great project and we might be interested in using it. However, when inspecting the API I noticed something strange.
http://www.faroo.com/#q=syntens&s=1&l=en&src=web shows results containing the word syntens. When I use the api (http://www.faroo.com/instant.json?q=syntens&start=1&length=10&l=en&src=web) there are no results.

The example with the query iphone does show the same results for both the web interface and the api. Why is this not working for syntens?

Thanks
roeland

The index is identical for web interface and API. But for the web interface we additionally implemented a fallback to the Bing-API, if our own index does not yet provide enough results for a specific query.
This fallback is not available for the API due to legal reasons.
