Passive crawling not working

Postby TomHH » Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:28 pm

I am running Faroo 3.5.1024.18654 on Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.
Enable passive crawling is activated.
However, neither the IE (IE 9) nor the Chrome (Version 23) histories get crawled.
If I enable active crawling, then the crawling queue is filled up.

Do you have any suggestions?

Passive crawling on IE should work (tested on IE9 Win 7 Pro 64 bit) .
As Faroo shows only the top of the crawler queue, visited pages which are already contained in the crawler queue are not displayed.
If Options / Index / Index Web History is also enabled, the page is moved to the top of the crawler queue, if the page has been visited more than 10 minutes ago.

The problem with Chrome we can confirm. It seems they changed their accessibility function which we are using. We will try to fix this.

New Faroo version 3.5.1025.33404 released. The passive crawling for Chrome has been fixed.

Excellent, passive crawling with Chrome works.
With IE 9 it still does not work here.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you using the latest IE version 9.0.8112.16421 (Update version 9.0.11)?
Are there any additional IE toolbars installed (the Url monitor is looking for an Edit class child of IE, so additional controls could cause the problem).
